It may seem tedious and time consuming, but it’s vital to your body’s health and fitness. Stretching helps and ensures your best performance when exercising; it is essential. Skipping it can negatively affect you.

The Benefits:

  1. Increased Flexibility and Joint Range of Motion.
  2. Reduces pain and stiffness.
  3. Reduced risk of injury.
  4. Minimized wear and tear.
  5. Improved circulation and better posture.
  6. Stress Relief.
  7. Enhanced Coordination.

The Appropriate Way to Stretch:

  1. Warm up first. Do not attempt to stretch when your muscles are still “cold.”
  2. Try walking for a short measure and then begin stretching.
  3. Hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds.
  4. Try to avoid tearing muscles. Scar tissue can hinder flexibility.
  5. If you feel any pain, you’ve stretched too far.
  6. Stretch both sides, equal motion.
  7. Stretch before and after an exercise activity.
